Connecting Organizations
"SCAN (Supporting Collaboration between Academia and Nonprofits)" refers to several initiatives. The core idea behind these initiatives is the promotion of partnerships between universities and nonprofit organizations, which can be mutually beneficial by providing:
- For Nonprofits: Access to free labor, professional input, new perspectives from students and faculty, and a chance to influence the next generation of professionals.
- For Academia: Opportunities for students to gain real-world experience, apply academic knowledge beyond the classroom, build valuable skills, and for faculty research to have a direct societal impact.
